TransCanada shuts down Keystone pipeline after oil spill in South Dakota - The Globe and Mail

The recent leak in the Keystone pipeline from South Dakota to Texas was found by a land owner and not the so called sophisticated leak detection system of TransCanada. Keystone XL was blocked. That's the one which would have run from Canada to Texas.

Republicans and Voter Suppression - The New York Times

Wisconsin's Voter I.D. Law: "Will prevent more legitimate votes from being cast than fraudulent votes." I believe this can be proven. Are you listening Wisconsin? We need some research on this. With research I believe it can be done. Republicans know this. It is why they put these laws on the books. After passing the law Governor, Scott Walker,  stopped the funding for voter educations programs to make sure it worked properly for Republicans..

Democrats Could Win Back The House Thanks to Trump Being as "Popular as Head Lice"

Gerrymandering, if you aren't sure, is the drawing of lines for congressional districts and many other elected positions that practically insures that the party in control of a state's legislature continues to win in those districts. Voting districts are usually redrawn after the U.S.Census every ten years. As Republicans won control of many state legislatures in 2010, they have been able to increase their majority in the U.S. House.  It was not thought that Democrats would be competitive in safe Republican districts for a few more election cycles. Trump changes everything.

Wing and a Prayer : snopes.com

This is an interesting story. What we in the U.S. call World War II was the cause of millions of deaths. There were sacrifices by people of many nations in this conflict.

Ronald Reagan, a two term President in the eighties, here in the U.S., was a former actor. There are many real stories of  heroism from that war that have never been written about. One of Ronald Reagan's favorite stories though may have come from a movie. Interesting read, with a short video from a movie if you are interested.
